Environmental health: a prevention protocol applicable in the village
5/8/2026 · by Health unit
Air, water, soil, food, sleep: a simple environmental prevention protocol, tested over six months in a pilot village and made reproducible by local coordinators.
The environmental health approach
Most chronic disorders observed in general medicine (fatigue, digestive issues, allergies, degraded sleep) have a strong environmental component. Rather than treating symptom by symptom, the environmental health approach acts upstream on daily exposures: indoor air quality, drinking water quality, food chemical load, screen exposure, sleep hygiene. Less spectacular, far more effective over time.
Protocols tested
The health unit structured five short protocols (1 page each) applied at the pilot village for six months: systematic ventilation twice a day, removal of chemical household products in favor of baking soda and vinegar, water filtered with activated charcoal, food 90% unprocessed, and a screen-free sleep window from 9pm to 7am. Each protocol is documented, measurable, and replicable.
First observed effects
Across 18 followed people (self-reported and basic exams): -42% winter ENT episodes vs. the same cohort the previous year, clear improvement in sleep quality for 14 of 18, disappearance of minor skin disorders for 6 people. No isolated spectacular improvement, but a clear cumulative effect with no additional medication.
Rollout to local teams
The five protocols are freely available to health coordinators trained in June 2026. A practical training session on implementation techniques is scheduled for autumn. More context on the environmental health page.
Sources and methodology
This article relies on measured field data, interviews, and public references. The method is made traceable so every figure and statement can be verified or replicated.
Methodology: direct observations on the pilot site, cross-checked against the monthly reviews of the authoring team and discussions with relevant local coordinators. Any factual correction can be reported via the contact page.
